«PRAYER IS ALL-POWERFUL»
God lives His life in the tight fullness of His infinite perfection. He has in Himself all that He could desire.
He does not need anything to be and to have all that He is and all that He has, because He is what He can be and has what He can have, even though He can be and have everything in infinitude.
Man is what God has wanted him to be, and has all that God wanted to give him. God wanted to create him so that he were image of His infinite perfection and so that he possessed Him by grace in all that He is and has.
All that God is, in Him is infinite reality by His adherence to Himself. Man is image of God, and possesses Him to the extent that he adheres to Him.
That is why, to fill the plenitude of his being and his acting, he ought to tend irresistibly towards God, sole end for which he was created. And when he does this, he lives in the fitting in with his reality, is happy and gives perfect meaning to all his being and acting. Therefore a man who does not tend towards God is a deformed being in creation, outside of his centre and unfitted in with his end; he is an odd being.
That is why, when sin separated us from God and pulled us out of our centre sending us forth along paths that keep us away from the Supreme Good, God Himself, faced with such disarray, decided, in an outpouring of love and of mercy towards us, to become Man, in order to lead us again, as the way, to His life by means of the truth of His teaching.
And so that all that He desired would become a reality, He grafted us on to Him, making us one thing with Himself in the person of the Incarnate Word, putting us back into His infinite plan and making us live in Him and towards Him, according to His loving design on creating us.
But, on incorporating us into His plan of Redemption, He wanted to join us to Himself, so that His will upon us would be done through our collaboration and adherence to Him as supreme and sole Good.
God gives Himself to us totally and unconditionally, unveils and manifests to us the infinite reality of His being and of His acting, and asks of us our free and personal response to the infinite donation of His selfsurrender. He invites us to follow Him making Himself for us the attractive way of happiness, which leads us to His life.
He does not force us, He generously invites us to the plenitude of His possession, and demands our collaboration to come to attain Him as the Supreme Good for which we have been created.
It was God’s plan to lead us to Him on creating us in His image and likeness; it is God’s plan to incorporate us into Him by means of the Redemption; and it is God’s plan –which He voluntarily respects– that His infinite donation be received through our collaboration; and that is why He gives Himself to us unconditionally, but to the extent that we prepare ourselves to receive Him.
What would He do in us and with us if we opened up to His sanctifying action…! What plenitude of bliss and happiness that of our possession…! What wide horizons would be uncovered to us in the torrential springs of the Eternal Fountains….!
But not all of us will satiate ourselves with the Waters, only the one who sets about to receive its infinite currents, and to the extent that he opens up to its inexhaustible tributaries…
God has prepared so much for us, and, sometimes, we receive so little for not knowing how or wanting to prepare ourselves at the passing of His eternal love…!
He created us and redeemed us so that we might be in His likeness and so that we might live in the homeloving company of His Divine Family, but through a ‘yes’ of collaboration to His loving surrender.
How many things He wants to give us!; how many spiritual and even material goods, that, for lack of our collaboration, stay in the divine will without turning into reality…! ’Whatever you ask the Father in my name I will do’ (Jn 14: 13a). Whatever…! Giving such power to our prayer, that we are all-powerful before the Father. Why do we not obtain almost anything? Because we do not ask as we ought to; and that is why our life becomes fruitless, and our prayers futile.
God has countless graces dependent on our prayers; since, on grafting us on to Him, He gave us a priesthood capable of snatching the infinite treasures from His breast and pouring them out for all men; and in the exercise of this priesthood we make ourselves fruitful and life-giving within the Church.
Mysterious priesthood that makes our lives brimming over in the fullness of Christ’s possession in relation to God and in relation to men. To the extent we have God, we communicate Him through our mystical priesthood, lived ‘between the porch and the altar’.
What spring of graces, of gifts, of fruits and of riches the Father has contained in the volcano of His bosom, waiting for our simple, warm and intimate prayer, to pour out in fruits of eternal life!
How great, how omnipotent, how powerful a man is praying at the foot of the Tabernacle! So much so, that before him Heaven opens up to lavish its supernatural riches on humanity.
This is the mystery of the Eucharist: The loving and unconditional wait of the Infinite Love in search of the simple hearts to hand Himself over totally to them.
How great it is to pray, and how few discover it. And that is why, so many graces are held back, and so much divine will is not fulfilled amongst men. Therefore, in the ages of the Church when Christians pray more, their apostolic irradiation is more supernatural, more certain, more extensive, more fruitful; since ‘all that we ask the Father in the name of Jesus is granted to us.’ ‘In the name of Jesus’; that is, according to Jesus, according to His eternal and supernatural plan, whereby He has wanted to associate us to His infinite donation to our very selves by means of prayer. God decided in His eternal plan to give us as many graces as we needed in common and individually in the Church’s bosom. And He gave them to us; but He wanted us to go and seek them with a contrite spirit and a sincere heart; Therefore, if we do not seek them, we do not find them, and we lose them.
He wanted as well to grant us all that we might ask Him, and He made countless gifts dependent on our prayer, gifts that would be snatched from Him to the extent of our prayer. When we do not pray, we lose them. And that is why, so many graces are lost!, so many things that God wants to grant us by means of our prayer, and, for not asking Him for them, we do not obtain them!
Today I have understood, in an new manner, in a tiny flash of light, in a sharp penetration of this truth into my understanding, that when things go wrong, normally, it is because, on not turning towards God, we do not do what we ought to do, and we do not obtain what we ought to obtain; since in prayer one not only learns what one ought to do and one obtains what one ought to obtain, but the understanding is enlightened in the discovery of God’s plans and of His will for each and everyone of us.
How simply I have understood today, and with what certainty I have seen the infinite heart of our Father, full of graces, of gifts, of fruits, waiting for them to be snatched by us for the fullness of our being and acting, in relation to ourselves and to the others…! How many graces lost…!
At the foot of the Tabernacle is where one learns to be what we ought to be, and to do what we ought to do. At the doors of the Tabernacle there arises the vocation to virginity, to the priesthood, the missionary life flourishes, and our heart is filled with impulse, our understanding is filled with light, our acting is filled with strength to carry out the divine plans with happiness and confidence.
That is why, when man loses his contact with God, sole end for which he was created, he no longer is what he ought to be, and, acting accordingly, does what he ought not to do, or how he ought not to do. Then: vocations do not arise, the missionary life languishes, humanism takes possession of the hearts and confusion invades us. Because, where will the human creature find the true meaning of his being and of his acting, with the authentic wisdom to illuminates his existence, if he loses contact with the One who is the Light of his eyes and the Way of his journey…?
How peaceful, how sweet and how calmly I have grasped today that God’s heart does not change! It is full of eternal mercies, aflame in infinite longings pouring out in torrents of loving light over us, in our being and our acting; but awaits the simple tendency of our lives towards Him, the rapturous petition of our prayers, to give Himself, granting us all that which, in the name of Jesus, we ask Him for.
I have grasped as well that, if we do not ask Him for it, He does not grant it to us, uncovering the reason for the dreadful situation in which the members of the Church find ourselves.
The devil has managed to separate God’s children from the contact with their Father; he has managed to downplay the Sacraments; he is managing to leave the Tabernacles empty with the myth of putting man in God’s place, relegating God, therefore, to a second level, going so far as to make Him disappear from man’s heart.
How great, how all-powerful is the overwhelming strength of a simple soul who adoringly implores the Infinite Love to pour Himself out over humanity…!
At the foot of the Tabernacle the end for which we have been created is fulfilled, being what we ought to be, and doing what we ought to do in relation to ourselves and to others; since we obtain for others and for ourselves all that we ask, managing to make ourselves in the likeness of Christ, who ‘sustains the orphan and the widow’ (Ps 145: 9b), giver of loves, Father of the true justice, safe Way who leads us to the true and authentic peace and happiness.
HOW GREAT IT IS TO PRAY…! So much so, that when I pray I completely fill the incalculable dimensions of my being and of my acting, fulfilling God’s infinite plan on creating me to be in His image and likeness, and to do, by adherence to and participation in His infinite will, what He does.
HOW GREAT IT IS TO PRAY…! Because to pray is to be with God. And, can there be anything greater for the creature than to get in touch with his Creator…?
’Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us. Whoever has seen me has seen the Father, because the Father and I are one’ (Jn 14: 8. 9b;10: 30).
Jesus, I want to be with You in order to be with the Father in the mutual and infinite love of the Holy Spirit, being what I ought to be and doing what I ought to do, thus filling the plenitude of my being and of my acting in the perfect fitting in with Your plans upon me within the Church’s bosom.
I am Church, and, in accordance to my priesthood, I need to be, ‘between the porch and the altar’, receiving the Infinite One to communicate Him to men, and gathering together mankind to present myself before God with all of it, imploring, with a simple and loving petition, to pour out His will upon each and everyone of His children.
HOW GREAT A MAN IS WHEN HE PRAYS…! So much so, that he becomes powerful with God’s power, being able to live and to be by participation what He is and lives in the company of His being Himself Family
